Part 2
The View Compass
After the comfortable walk in the forest and passing some picnic sites, you would soon arrive at a long staircase, and at the top, emerge into the sun and a large road. This part is the toughest bit, as the sun is quite hot especially in the summer, and the slope is quite steep as first. But when you turn around, you could see a nice view of Ocean Park across. After some climbing, the slope gradually becomes flat, and there is some shelter. Further on, you could turn right onto a flat road that would allow you to savour the views of Wong Chuk Hang and Ocean Park.

Soon after, you would arrive at the Middle Gap View Compass, which gives you a splendid view of Shoushan Hill, Ocean Park, Wong Chuk Hang and Brick Hill. The view is spectacular, and the angle is just perfect. There are also no trees in the way, and you could have a clear view of the urban area below! You could spend a whole lot of time taking photos and studying the landscape and the view compass guide.
